We are the big little coffee roastery driven by the desire to make the coffee tastier, more exciting and better. We roast coffee that challenges both the industry and ourselves, every day. And we can do so thanks to our long-term and close relationships with some of the best coffee producers in the world. People who are as dedicated as we are. Who also know how important the ecosystem is for the quality and the future. The result is better coffee, for everyone. Johan & Nyström has 60 employees and a turnover of about 200M SEK. Every year we roast 1,400 tons of coffee. Johan & Nyström is a part of Espresso House Group
We are now looking for a commercially driven and strategic Director to lead the next phase of our growth – strengthening our market position while staying true to who we are.
Location: Länna, Sweden
About the Role
As Director, you will have full responsibility for business performance, strategy execution, and organizational development. You will lead the management team and play a key role in shaping the commercial direction of the company – ensuring profitable growth, a strong customer offering, and an efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
Set and drive the strategic agenda
- Lead the management team in developing strategy, business plans, and budgets
- Define and execute the commercial strategy together with the sales team to drive market share and sustainable, profitable growth
- Establish clear customer segmentation and channel strategies – defining where to play and how to win
- Leverage market and customer insights to ensure a competitive and attractive product offering
Generate business and drive commercialization
- Ensure effective sales processes and ways of working (e.g., lead management, best practice sharing, and performance follow-up)
- Approve targets for sales representatives, segments, and key customers aligned with budget
- Proactively identify business opportunities within target segments and ensure marketing efforts are prioritized accordingly
- Support the sales organization in closing larger deals and assist in price negotiations when needed
- Follow up on sales performance and key accounts, identify improvement areas, and lead initiatives to win new customers
Ensure operational efficiency
- Work closely with Roastery Operations, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure an efficient setup and optimized conversion costs
Lead and develop the organization
- Attract, recruit, and build the team required to deliver on business targets
- Develop and retain employees through clear performance management and individual development plans
- Coach and support team members, fostering a high-performance culture
What We’re Looking For
You are a senior leader with a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to drive profitable growth. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and have experience leading through others in a dynamic, customer-focused business.
You are comfortable navigating between commercial, operational, and strategic topics, and you understand how to translate insights into concrete actions and results. As a leader, you build trust, set direction, and create clarity – enabling teams to perform and develop.
- Academic degree in business, marketing or equivalent
- +5y in a managerial position with P&L responsibility
- Strong sales track-record within HORECA
- Speciality coffee and production unit experience preferred
- Fluent in English
It’s a plus if you:
- Have strong customer network withing HORECA
- Are fluent in Swedish
